Deborah's Story

I actually did not graduate from Ironton High School because my family moved in the middle of my 8th grade year, but I lived in Ironton for 10 years. We moved to Springfield, IL, where we lived for 3 years, and then up to Oswego, IL, which is where I graduated high school. I graduated from Northern Illinois University in 1976, married John Nemanich in 1980 and had two sons -- Peter (1985) and Sam (1987). I am still living in Oswego and have been working for the past 16 years as a teacher's assistant at my high school (Oswego High School) working with LD students. My husband was a teacher at Oswego when I first met him, but he retired from there about 10 years...Expand for more
ago to pursue his own business. My dad recently passed away at the age of 86 (last August) but my mom is still living. They moved back to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan in 1992 and my mom is still there. My brother Rick and his wife, Nancy, live in LaGrange, GA, my brother Marc and his wife, Robin, live in Racine, WI and my sister DeeDee never married and has been living in Atlanta, GA for 24 years now. I have been having pangs of nostalgia lately about my years in Ironton and have been very curious about where some of my old friends are and what they are up to now. I would love to hear from any of you who remember me. I will check back here periodically.
