Deborah's Story
I moved to Edmonton kicking and screaming in 1975. Over the years, Edmonton has grown on me but I will never consider it "home." Sadly, I do not have many fond memories of those early days in this city. Moving across the country as a teenager and giving up family and friends was not easy.
I have two kids...seventeen years and seventeen days apart. I have three grandchildren.

g in such an unfair and unjust system. I quit that job and my career took some very interesting turns - I coordinated a children's festival, ran a day camp for immigrant and refugee kids and worked as the Executive Director of a not-for-profit org. I ended up going back to school to pursue my true "passion" - public relations/communications. I have worked in that field ever since.
I am very active in politics, the labour movement, women's rights, human rights and many other social justice causes.
