Deborah's Story
Life
I am still single, but am happily engaged for 22 years. I live in Clearwater, Fl. I am a machinist with 4 kids. A 24 year old son, a 24 year old step daughter, and twins (a boy and a girl) that are 12. I am also a grandmother as of July 2000. My fiance' is a Design engineer for a silicone company. They make parts for Playtex and Johnson & Johnson. We now have a second granchild that just turning 5 on May 13th. Life has been wonderful in the Sunshine State!!
Our main hobby is something that James and I do together. We have built a couple of 4 wheel drive monster trucks. Our first one was an International Pick up truck that was a prototype they only made one year. Now we have a 1979 Ford Bronco with a 1969 460 Lincoln engine it. We build the entire thing ourselves. do. The kids enjoy it also. Right now we are getting ready to put a lift kit and bigger tires on the 1991 Chevy Suburban that I drive. It has a 6.2 diesel engine in it. I got real lucky with that though, considering the cost of gas now a days, I actually get 35 miles to the gallon. I really enjoy being a grease monkey and machinist. We do it together. We worked together for years with no problems. I don't think I would of ever thought of being a machinist before I met him. Now I wouldn't change my carreer for anything. It is a very rewarding and gratifying feeling being able to make things out of metal or aluminum, no matter how stupid it is, that someone needs. I started out by making cup cutters. They are the tools that make the holes in golf courses. Then I moved on to making medical equiptment for orthoscopic surgery. Pretty cool stuff.
