Deborah's Story
After graduation in 1967, I attended Barnard College for two years, transferring to Rhode Island School of Design, where I got my BFA in 1973. I taught art to grades K-8, in South Dartmouth MA, and for 3 years in London, at an American school. Married there for the first time to a classmate from RISD, then lived with him in Houston for a year, before returning to the NY area. Met my second husband, Bill, at JCPenney. (Not in the sock department..) We married in 1981, in Rye.
We have 4 kids, all grown- Will, 33, Anna, 32, Parker, 29, and Kate, 26. Working as: lighting designer, volunteer, internet guru, and nurse, respectively! Bill is a retired graphic designer, now remodeling houses for fun and some income...he's one of those guys who needs a project, always. I'm an artist- painting...Expand for more
, printmaking, and more, from a studio in our house. Been doing this since giving up graphic design when the kids were small, and going back to painting, rather than see a therapist! You can check out my website: deborahpiercebonnell.com, if you're interested.
I've been working for over a year with Evelyn van Naerssen, Helen Garinger, and Francia Alvarez, to plan our 50th reunion for next June 10, 2017. It's been lots of hours, and lots of fun, connecting with classmates all over the country.
We are hoping to have a great turnout for this important anniversary, and we're sure it will be a lot of fun.
