Debra's Story
Life
Casey Henkel and I married 6 July 1976 right after his graduation from the AF Academy. He retired from USAF 30 years later as a Colonel and we still live in Washington, DC where Casey works as a Government Civilian for the Secretary of the AF. We have three daughters: Ashley (1978), Lauren (1983), and Jordan (1984), six grandchildren: Anna Grace (2001), Makena Isabel (2005), Andrew Paul (2007), Caitlin Bourke (2009), Avery Clare,(2011), and Matthew Kyle (2013).

school I worked for Southwestern Bell, atteneded college and eventually started my own pattern company Handmaiden Designs in 1997. I design patterns for Quilts, Punch Needle, Primitive Rug Hooking, and Stitcheries. I sell to quilt shops in the USA, Canada, France, and Austrailia. Through my needlework I have made friends all over the world. I am so blessed in that I am able to do what I love.
As for Casey and our family, I love our life together and I'm just glad to be here ;-)
