Debbie's Story
After graduation, went to Lakeland Community on & off for a couple years and hated it. My uncle owned Cleveland Precision Industries in Willowick and was nice enough to give me an office job, my dad was the welder there. That was a great learning experience as Uncle George didn't put up with any crap. I met Allen Perdue, from Maple Heights at the Rare Cherry, May 1978 at an Elvis impersonator show. Bought a home in Mentor that my dad and I lived in until he retired in April of '83 & moved to Florida to be with his sister. I got married in Oct '83, my dad passed away 2 months later. Lived in Mentor, owned & operated Winbrook Auto from '85 to '94. Had Joe 6/26/86, and Brandi, 12/17/87. Moved to Concord, then to Chardon. Wondered why the hell we lived in the Antartic so we looked at the map and choose Arizona. Sold business and home, moved to Phoenix July '94. Got divorced in '98. Al got bored? Worked at AT&T from Feb '95 til office closed in '06 while I was having a house built. o open a business in Mexico, & since Joe was in Iraq being an Army Tank mechanic, and Brandi was trying to figure out what she wanted out of life besides taking all my money, I thought it was a good idea. So I put everything in storage, my yellow lab & one of my cats went to live with my ex (he was real thrilled about that, but thank God for him), I took my 2 Chihuahua's, one cat, my clothes and headed south. My Lab had to be put down Aug 8th, I'm sorry I left that for Al to do, but I'm really glad I wasn't here for that. He was my best friend for 11 years, he was in too much pain. I've been living in San Carlos, Mexico for the past 8 months running a Property Management business but couldn't make a living because the economy sucks, so now I'm back in Mesa, AZ staying with my daughter, looking for a job and a new home. Whew! Can't say my life has been boring. My son, Joe comes home from Iraq Dec 22nd, so almost in time for Brandi's 21st BD and we'll all be together again for Xmas, that's what's important. I hope there is a big 40 year reunion, would love to see everyone!
