Debra's Story
Hi everyone! Wow, what an amazing journey these past how many years? Geeese. If we only knew then what we know now huh?
Well, my story is not to exciting but none the less, it is who I am. It doesn't seem that long ago that we were all just having fun at ol North Side High, but with the turn of events of life, my senior year, I was qickly wisked away to the dusty trails of Abilene. There I spent the most of my young adult years rearing 3 children and taking care of my mother. I graduated from nursing school in 79.
In 1994 after years of desperation in a failing marriage, I surrendered and gave my life to the Lord. After that, life began to change dramatically. It was a new way and a new day! ater after lossing my youngest child and only son at the age of 16, that I had the opportunity to return to Israel. By this time I was hooked. I began learning and teaching about hebraic roots. Since 2004 I have been 7 times with a group called the "Battalion of Deborah" (no reflection on me)
If you read the story in the book of Judges, you will understand more about her position. Every year I go there to volunteer my time in various areas from Military bases, to an Orphanage to soup Kitchens. My mostly I support the land, the people and the God of Israel in various areas that I am called.
3 years ago, I decided to cut the ties from Abilene and head back to my old stompping grounds. I did not choose Ft. Worth, but now live in Denton. Guess what. I am still taking care of children (My 3 grandchildren)and nursing.
