Workplace
6.15.18 Working closer to my home in Plymouth. I love my job at Cape Cod Healthcare as Executive Director of Behavioral Health. It is a good time to be in Psychiatry! After several years working in Boston, I took a position as an Emergency Department Director for 6 years. Fun and exciting, but I was ready for more work/life balance. Although I am a nurse, I am also a clinical psychologist and decided to go back into Psychiatry. Surprisingly, it was the right move at the right time. I have 4 grandchildren, 5 grown children, 2 dogs, and a full life. I feel fortunate indeed.
Lucky me, I am back in Boston after 28 years!! My commute is long, but I have a job I love as a COO in a Boston Hospital. After graduation, I became an RN, then moved to Minneapolis. There, I worked as a trauma/ICU and then Head...Expand for more
Nurse. When the children were small, I was fortunate to stay home for a few years. As they grew older I returned to graduate school for a masters in Family Therapy and a second MS in clinical counseling. I went on to finish a Ph.D. in Marriage and Family shortly afterwards. After graduation, I moved to Dallas, Texas and have been there until I moved to Plymouth in June of 2004 after our youngest son went off to college. I loved Dallas!! I was warm and the sun shined all the time. In Dallas, I went to work for several hospitals as Director of Outpatient Psychiatric Services for Columbia Hospital Systems, worked as a consultant for a leadership company, as well as maintained a private Marriage & Family Therapy practice. In the last several years, I have authored several books and have a part-time speaking career.
