Debra's Story
Debra is from Houston, Texas. Debra is married. Debra's schools include Englewood High School, . Gulf Coast Community College in Panama City ,Fla. and also Houston Community College in Houston, Texas, Debra works at Alief I.S.D. in SW, suburb of Houston ,Texas.(32 yrs.) Debra has 4 adult daughters and 2 grand daughters.
I married after my Junior year in High School, was married 2 years then divorced in Denver. I then moved early in 1973 to Panama City ,Florida with my daughter, Carmen and worked at Gulf Coast Community Hospital for 3 years and lived in and around the Panama City area. Loved the beaches and quiet life but found it lonely at times.Then I moved to Dothan ,Alabama in 1976 where I found a friendly christian group of young singles that I connected well with and found a comraderie that filed my loneliness.I found employment at Flowers Hospital and worked there for several years. It was there I met my 2nd husband after a brief courtship we were married in 1978, Many companies started laying off with the steelworkers bust in the 80's which hit my husbands career hard so we found ourselves having to find work again and moved to Houston,Texas at that time in 19...Expand for more

We have lived in Houston since then.I worked in Advertising with a newspaper for a while,loved it but my youngest child was born very ill and I had to quit work to care for her while my husband was also fighting a devastating illness. I needed to be free during the day so I could transport my husband to the medical center for cancer and radiation treatments and also my daughter was requiring much care at intensive childrens Hospital facility so I decided to take employment with the school district in transportation so I could have breaks during the day and transport them to their treatments. This worked well and continued to work with 4 children and a complicated schedule to follow so I stayed the course and here I am still many years later but... loving it. I worked at first transporting regular education students for 18 years,I transfered to a different building and dept. about 14 years ago and have been working with special needs children.I LOVE IT.There's always something new to learn.The kids are amazing! Their families have much to teach us!.and many challenges to overcome. I've learned a lot about myself! So now I drive a little bus from Bellaire Blvd. lot.
