Debra's Story
I was not all that popular but did have a number of friends at Rutherford. I can remember faces (back then) better than names now, but trying to re-connect to some old memories through this portal. I graduated (just barely) in 1974, married 2 weeks later, and moved to Georgia. My marriage lasted only 3 years and was divorced by 1977 and moved back to good old Panama City. That's what happens when you marry to "get away from home"! I've been single ever since, and prefer it that way. I guess I'm just not the "wife" type. I have no children; I have had gobs of cats over the years; now my family is my sister, Tierney, her kids and grandkids, whom I love like my own. I went to Gulf Coast State College, part time, in my 30's but did not graduate. I have now just entered school again, on line, at Hodges University in Naples, Florida and going for...Expand for more
my AS degree in Medical Information Technologies. I have worked here and there in my earlier years, but have been employed with Adams Printers on Harrison Avenue for the past 23 years as a graphics designer/artist. I have travelled mostly in the southeastern region of the U.S. for vacation and other reasons. My favorite place to visit is Kentucky in the early spring, when you can smell the bluegrass and the mountain minerals in the air! Second to that would be the Appalachian mountain region in North Carolina in the fall, when the leaves turn and there is a nip in the air. My best places during my Rutherford days would be, of course, the beach and all of it's trappings. White sand, surf, blue skies and white clouds. What could be better? Best days of my life: establishing new friends. Worst days of my life: deaths in the family. THAT'S IT!
