Debra's Story

Wow...Cedar Groove where do I start? I Graduated with the class of 1979, and went into the United States Army and served faithfully for the last 25 years. I currently work for Booz Allen Hamilton as an Associate within our firm. I provide support to the Department of Defense in the Pentagon working with Service members returning from deployment in hotspots around the world. Currently, I reside in the Northern Virginia area with my family. I've been married for 23 years to James L. Wilson III, a retired Criminal Investigator. To our union, we have three sons, Charles (27), Sha'n (23), and Marquis (20). You know I wanted a girl, but God did not see fit to give me one. Therefore, with that said, my son's will have to bring me granddaughters. I retired from the military in 2003 with 25 years of service to my country. I wouldn't have taken anything for the journey or experience. It was a wonderful ride, and I rode it for my country. In 2005, I completed graduate school, and was I glad when it was all over! My area of expertise is "Quality" consulting for DoD. My hobbies are traveling abroad, riding motor cycles, shopping, reading when I can, and lastly taking it easy because I work a lot. Nevertheless, I won't complain. I've always wanted to be a well rounded person when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a good attribute and made a difference. As it turns out, they were right! If I'm going to work somewhere, I need to have a conducive enviroment, with competent, loyal employees, outstanding leadership, and peers to be able to deal with the day-to-day. My hero is J.E.S.U.S, because with him "ALL" things are possible. This life will soon be over! And you need to know that, on the real. The one person from my ...Expand for more
past who I'd most like to see again is Spencer Graves, because he was my high school sweetheart, and Vivitar Clark/Turner. I hate to admit it but I love Science Fiction, and the Twilight Series. If I could improve my home, I'd remodel one of the two Master Suites and bump out of the house 6 ft all the way around. But I don't have the room on my property...so guess what it is what it is. My dream home would be in Kisseemee Flordia in the gated community my girlfriend lives in where I intend to retire in about 6yrs God willing. If there was one thing I would tell any adult about our children that we raise it would be, it's a challenge. and that w they hear you, and remember to RESPECT them. They are young adults. Always remember they are watching us, so be mindful. Be straight forward and honest. And lastly, remember they will one day become adults and will be clones of what they have seen or heard. If I won $100 million, I'd give a large amont of it to the less fortunate and, then spend the rest on church, friends and set up a trust fund for my family. My best friend would tell you I'm extremly straight-up and have a low tollerance for BS, but people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as professional and have a loving and generous heart. Can't say I dress like I did 10 or 20 years because I'm really trendy yet professionally dressed during the duty day. If I had one do over in life it would be to slow down and enjoy the journey more. Much of the pressure we have in life we put on ourselves. Spencer is my oldest friend and we don't get to talk as often as I wish, but we will always be friends and I wish him the very best in life always. In Solidarity, Debra L. Wilson, formally known as Debra Smith
