Debra's Story
Life
I'm married, 20 years, my husband's name is Ted. We live in Bay City, Bangor Township. Our daughter Malory, a junior at John Glenn High School, member of Varisty Swim Team, Student Senate, National Honor Society, Drama Department and a big volunteer for many organizations. Malory is very gifted with art and plans to chase her dream in the field after graduation in 2012, possibly teaching.
In the winter of 1982-1983, while single still I spent a year on the ice performing as a Saginaw Gears Sprockette. I had always enjoyed ice skating as I grew up, but had never thought I'd be performing in front of crowds.
In the spring of that year I started working at Linwood Cycle Sales selling parts and accessories. It was in 1987 that I met Ted, the next year I moved to Graff Chevrolet, Bay City were I worked for the next five years as the Deal Clerk for New and Used Cars. In the time home I would dabble with my art skills and finally decided in 1996 to aquire a business name and entered Pepper Tree Place. A shop located in downtown Bay City. This year (2006) I am celebrating my ten year anniversary with the business. Then in 2002, I was approached to come to work at Jcpenney by another friend whom worked there. I work part time in the Visual Department putting up graphics and displays. I enjoy working from home, but also enjoy being around adults to socialize with.
In the spring of 2007 Pepper Tree closed its doors...I found a new home for a year to put my art work forsale and then it closed. I continue to work at JcPenney as the Visual Specialist part time and spend alot of time with volunteering with John Glenn Boosters, the things Malory is involved in and also Saginaw Survivors of Suicide Memorial Golf Outing
As a family we enjoying camping throughtout Michigan. There are many wonderful areas to see.
