Debra's Story
Life
Well, I almost hate to admit it, but apparently I had issues with cutting the apron strings. I did stay at home and spend my college years in Las Cruces. I graduated from NMSU with a degree in Business/Marketing in December of 1992. (A field which I have never worked in!) 2 weeks after graduating, I married Brian Zongker and moved up to Albuquerque, where he worked as a golf pro. (No, they don't play golf all day!) In 1995, we had our first son, Hayden, who is now 11. In 1999, we had our second son, Tyler, who is now 8.
After college, I had a couple of various jobs in customer service. They were ok, but not my thing. I then went to work for a commercial office furnishings company in 1997, also in customer service. I worked with a pretty wide variety of clients including IHS and Los Alamos Labs. I moved up into Project Management and really enjoyed it until the family moved to Pinetop, AZ for my husbands new job. Yes, there are actually pines in Arizona and skiing!! One of our great family activitys. When we moved here in 2003, I stayed at home until 200...Expand for more
5 when I went to work for the home owners association as their CCR Director, yikes!! Not my favorite job! I was used to trying to make people happy, not ticking them off! Anyway, last year I quit that to pursue my dream of owning my own business. I opened Mountain Mutts, which is a Self Serve dog wash, full service grooming, and pet supplies shop. I have had a blast with it so far and hope that some day it may actually even make money! I still love animals, don't have horses anymore unfortunately, but have made up for that with 3 dogs, 2 cats, 1 turtle and fish. We also foster for the local humane society quite often so there's always room for more!
When we are not hard at work, we enjoy the beautiful outdoors as much as possible. I never would have thought that we would have to move to Arizona to find the mountains or that we could actually live in AZ without any air conditioning, but we do! Camping, fishing, hiking, skiing, what more could we possibly ask for! It is definitely God's glory that we live in.
God Bless you and keep you!
