Debra's Story
Greetings Class of '74
I hope you are all well and have fond memories of high school!
After graduation, my family moved to Lewisberry. I got a full time job at the Westshore Veterinary Hospital where I worked for next three years. In the summer of 1977, my family relocated to Texas. It was really a culture shock and I missed my home, my friends, and other family members.
After moving to Texas, I tested for a position at a local police department and was hired as a Communications Specialist responsible for answering 9-1-1 and dispatching for police and fire. In 1979 I attended the Texas Department of Public Safety Law Enforcement Academy. Later that year, I was married (to a police officer). Yes, we met at work :)

I attended Richland College and studied Business and Computer Information Systems. I returned to work in 1986 taking a corporate job with JC Penney as a Budget Data Specialist. In 1992, I left JCP to return to the police department as the CAD System Administrator. Then, in 1995 I attended the Institute for Law Enforcement Administration.
In 1998 I further advanced my career with the police department and accepted a position as a Crime Analyst working in the criminal investigations division. In 2007, I earned my professional certification from California State University, Sacramento and became a Certified Crime and Intelligence Analyst.
I have been married for 29 years and have been a soccer mom to two boys now ages 25 and 18. I have continued my work with the police department and am now the Senior Analyst. What can I say, crime pays!
