Debra's Story
Life
I moved to Southern Illinois in 1979, met a guy in college and got married in '82, moved to the Chicago area, and I've been there ever since. I was married for 20 years, and now I'm not. I had three kids, stayed home with them until they were grown, and now I'm a teacher in a large suburban high school. I teach Business and Technology Education. In the 80's, I refused to learn how to use a computer because I said it was a fad, and now I make my living showing others how to use them... who knew?!? lunteer for the Ronald McDonald House near Children's Memorial Hospital in Chicago, acting as a Weekend Manager for the past 15 years. Life's been pretty good to me so far...
College
I was an early grad from Rio Mesa in 1978, and completed a year at Moorpark College before moving to southern Illinois in 1979. I earned a BS in Business from Eastern Illinois University (Charleston, IL) in 1982. I went to Chicago State University in 1999 to obtain my Secondary Education Teacher's Certification. In 2004, I earned my MS in Educational Administration from Governors State University (University Park, IL).
