del's Story
Life
I started at Einstein jr. hi. in 1963.
Moved in the fall of 65 to Burbank for
three mos., then came back to San Diego
to finish up at P.B.jr. hi, and on to
Mission Bay. I have many fond memories
of Einstein during my years there. One
of my favorite teachers was Mr. La Vaut. He was the "father" alot
of us didn't have, as they were
out at sea.
In Sept. of '65, my mom was sent
up to Burbank to open the newly
built Golden State Motor Hotel in
famous Burbank, Ca. Whoopie! We
didn't want to leave San Diego, but opportunity knocks, and there
we go!!! After a brief stay in
Burbank, we moved on to Inglewood
to open yet another hotel. Oh boy
no more school, no more books, no
more teachers dirty looks! That
was short lived....when my father
returned from WesPac, we were ordered to go home. Alright Dad...
we settled in Pacific Beach where
I finished up my junior high career at P.B. Jr. High. I went
on to Mission Bay from there....
and the rest is history!!
We are now the proud GRANDPARENTS to THREE beautiful kids, two boys, and a girl born last December. Natalie Joy, Ryan, and Jacob. They are the light of our eyes!
On a personal note, I've had my first song copywri...Expand for more
tten called "Mattie's Star". It's a tribute song I wrote for the MDA Ambassador Mattie Stepanek. And although he lost his battle from that disease a little over two years ago, he left us a legacy of hope, faith, and the promise of a better tomorrow by believing in the power of Gods love and eternal grace. I will always miss him, but always he will be in my heart.
I have SURVIVED my third year from "the beast" cancer. My dear BUCCANETTES, go for those exams, they can save your life. It SAVED mine!!!!
Military
As the daughter of a Military man, when one person is in the Navy......everybodys' in the Navy!
With the exceptin of Wes-Pac. you move as much as any one, probably more!!! Wherever my fathers travels took him, we went
most of the time. Hawaii was as
far out to sea as I remembering
wanting to be. I married a Navy
man as well, and have been a faith
ful wife, and daughter all my life! So I say Go Navy....ride the waves!!!!!!! I DID. Taking a
part in a Military Dependant cruise was the best thing I could
have done. Except, there are NO
windows on submarines!! I got my
dolphins, and a membership card
from the Captain for doing so.....
I was soooo proud!
