Delbert's Story
After our 1958 graduation, I received a BS (1962) from Fort Hays and a pHD (1967) from Kansas State University. Dolores Woodard and I were married in 1962 and divorced in 1994. We had two daughters, Kelly and Kim. I worked as a physicist at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory in Richland, WA from 1967 to 2005.
I am now retired, and live in Richland with wife Phiyen. We were married in 2003. We have traveled a fair amount since my retirement, visiting Maui (twice), Oahu, Peru, Tanzania (twice), Kauai, the big island of Hawaii, Alaska (by cruise ship), the Grand Canyon,...Expand for more
Disneyworld and other attractions near Orlando, southern Germany, London, Switzerland, Spain, southeast Asia (Vietnam, Cambodia, and Thailand), and Vancouver Island in British Columbia. My two daughters live in Richland,
I am listed as a co-inventor on 7 patents, some of them awarded after I retired. Frankly, though, the impacts were small or zero, though I did get a small royalty for a few years. I can't claim to be very creative or imaginative.
I have been playing volleyball as a recreation since 1968. Unfortunately, never very well. I will need to give it up soon.
