Delbert's Story
I enjoyed studying Spanish with Mr. Severance, so I took a Spanish major at La Sierra. I spent one year in Argentina. Then I taught English as a second language to adults at night at the Calexico Mission School. I was married for three years to a woman from Mexico and we have one daughter, Wendy.
So I never taught Spanish, I always taught ESL. In recent years I have worked as a private tutor. I advertise in a Spanish language circular and then I drive to people's houses and spend two hours a week teaching them English. some of its difficulties. I get hits from around the world, even China and Russia. They must use a web translator, because it is explained in Spanish.
I live with my older sister in a big house in Norco, California. Norco is known as Horsetown USA. Most people have horses so there are riding trails instead of sidewalks. We had a horse when Wendy was younger, but the only animals we have now are one mallard duck and a bunch of chickens.
Wendy has grown up and is a massage therapist. She lives in La Sierra.
I have been to three reunions. The next one will probably be our fiftieth.
