I married my high school sweetheart, Wayne Savage, in 1965. He was in business for himself and we lived in Farmington Hills for a number of years, where we had three children. Two daughters and a son. In the early 1970's we relocated to Dallas, Texas so Wayne could expand his business. Unfortunately, a few months later he filed to divorce me and we were divorced soon afterwards. The children, all very early elementary schoolers at the time, and I, decided to remain in Texas and make it our home. I was a single mom for quite a number of years and believe me, in a strange city and with no back up of family or friends, it was quite an education. It was a difficult time in my life and being a single mother was a full time job on top of having a full time job. I found wonderful employment as a dental office manager and was employed there for over thirty years. I retired in 2009 at age 65. I loved my job and the patients and their families grew up right in front of my eyes as I was employed there so long. They were not patients, they became friends and the dentist I worked for was the best. My three children are my pride and joy. My oldest daughter is a primary care physician, educated at Baylor and the University of Texas Med School. She is married to a physician and they have 2 adopted children from Russia. My second daughter, also a Baylor grad, graduated from the South Texas School of Law in Houston and received her law degree, although she does not practice as she has her own business. She is married to an engineer and they have 3 adopted sons . My son is President of Interstate Batteries, Asia and lives with his wife and youngest daughter in Shanghai, China. He has two other daughters, one at Texas A&M and another a teacher, married to a psychologist who live in Tuscaloosa, AL.
