Dena's Story
Life
After graduating from Lynchburg College in May of 1975, I began my career in Early Childhood Education. I taught in Beckley, West Virginia my first two years. In September, 1976 I attended a friend's wedding in Jacksonville, North Carolina and met my future husband. I have taught in the Onslow County public school system for the past 24 years-grades K, 1, 2, 3, and 5. he is now attending Greensboro College (Greensboro, North Carolina), majoring in Music (Vocal Performance) and Birth through K education. Michael is the Service Director of the local Buick, Pontiac, GMC Truck, Mitsubishi dealership. He stays glued to his computer most of the time, maintaining their many websites and doing various other tasks for work. I stay busy with various tasks related to my fifth grade classroom and school community, but still manage to find time to pursue various hobbies.
