Well, this may or may not take long. Right after high school, I worked at Beechnut-Lifesavers in Holland, Mich. I finished up my candy career by living in my Cobra Mustang for six months (I think my dad prophesied that over me by calling me "Goofy-bum" for most of my life), then went to live with the wonderful Rayburn family, and then joined the Army because I'd never been in the Army before :-). I served three years and then took a "European-out" which means I stayed in Germany after I was discharged in May 1983. I worked at the German based Stars and Stripes newspaper until March 1984 and then traveled to Sri-Lanka and India which was a once in a life time experience. Almost got my nose pierced, almost joined a cult (at the time I thought there were a group of people that loved Jesus, but no, there were a cult), and almost got some strange plague that affected me for a few months after I left India.
