Deniece's Story

I always wanted to be a teacher when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a crazy idea. As it turns out, they were WRONG. I am presently finishing my second year in my Masters program. I am in Special Education...no comments from those who know me too well! This story maker wants me to say how I blow off steam....better not. lol If I'm going to work somewhere, I need to have a coke, gum, and smokes to be able to deal with the day-to-day. Now I have to talk about my hero...GEEZ. Everyone I have ever met. They have all mad an impact on my life. There is no such thing as "a" hero. We are all heros in someone's life everyday. I am still in Martinsburg, WV. I left MD in 1997 and went to Winchester VA, some how life led me to WV. I am not sure how, but I like it and I do miss MD, just not their skyrocketing prices. The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is Theresa Nappi, because I miss her. I still love sports, just don't get enough time to do any of it. I should make time! I usually site see, hike, get lost on purpose, and take tons of pictures of nature and everthing else. I have pets.... Well, this cute little story maker says "life doesn't always turn out as you expect. What's been your biggest surprise?" Now that is funny. My who life has been a surprise. Think about it, did any of us come down here with a print out saying what was going to happen to us. Sure would have been nice to have one of those. I could have deleted a few things. If I could improve my home, I'd remodel the house and add on a jacuzzi. My dream home would be paid for. What have I learned from my kids it wants to know, nosey isn't it? I have learned that when they are born and we look at them we see magic, and how wonderful they are and how great they are going to be, and they proved me to be correct. Alright, they have taught me not to expect these things when you first lay eyes on them, or you will not have the dreams of them that you had in that first minute of life fulfilled. But...they will bring you many years of experiences, tears and laughter, that you can talk about until you die. What teacher would I love to see again? Oh I think from Jr. High (Saccser) a Mrs. Hawkins or Mr. Ennis. Especially Mr. Ennis (the black Abe Lincoln). Mrs. Hawkins so I could finish cussing her our, properly this time, and maybe wash her hair so that the still hairspray curl at the end doesn't poke your eye out when she bends over, and oh yeah...you still have my SLAM book (if you can remember those), and I want it back. Mr. Ennis because he always told me in loud rude words..."RODERICK, YOU WILL NEVER AMOUNT TO ANYTHING." I would love to just see him, with ...Expand for more
a step ladder in hand so I can reach him, and slap the S... out of him. Then there was the VP Mr. Tashenburger (big lips Tashenburger), who always ran and hid when the race fights broke out, (back in the bussing days). Oh yeah, I did see him, when I was about 25 in a bar, and he tried to pick me up. Talk about wanting to puke....I just walked away, I didn't want to say "are you kidding, you use to be my VP in Jr. High and you are so nasty). I quietly went to the bathroom and puked..lol. That about does that. If I won $100 million, I'd give some of it to charity, then spend the rest on my famly, close friends and give some to the old friends who show up from nowhere looking for a quick handout. ha ha. What the heck..it is only money. Okay so now I have to tell you "to be truly happy, you would be where, doing what, with whom?" Now there is a great question. I would have to say I would be somwhere warm, sunny and with a beach, drinking pina coladas out of a fresh cut pineapple, with Kevin Costner. How does that sound? Sounds great to me. But life has proved that, it would be the rainy season, the pineapple would soak up all the alcohol and Kevin Costner would do those loud juicy burps that make my stomach tighten up. So I guess I will stay where I am and see what turns up naturally. Oh, I have to answer this one..it is good. "What happened to my first crush?" I finally get to admit this out loud to the world...lol I have no idea. But the cute little story is, that when I was in the 7th grade I laid eyes on this guy who I fell deeply in "love" with (ha ha, it was 7th grade). I had a mad crush on ths guy through the 9th grade. I thought he was perfect, even when he came to school with red rimmed eyes and sleep stuck in his eye lashes. He made my stomach get butterflies just walking by me. We were friends but that was it. I have no idea if he ever knew. When I was about 25 or so, I was at a local show seeing The Fabulous Thunderbirds, (I think) and this guy comes up and asks me if I wanted to dance. He actually said "Hi Deniece, you want to dance?" Well, it was him. Funny, after all of those years, those butterflies came right back. I danced, we talked, it was great. A perfect ending to a school girl "MAD" crush. My dreams finally came true..ha ha. Thank you Terry Arth. Do I still dress like I did 20 years ago? Well, yes. I am still me. Jeans and shirts. Of course I can clean up well, but only when I have to. Well, that was fun. You should all try the story wizard. But I am done it now, and must get back to reality. If anyone sees Terry Arth, tell him I said hi. Hopefully my story doesn't embarrass him. What is he up to anyway? Take care all. Hope to hear from some of you.
