Denise's Story

After HS I attended Rutgers College, studied theatre in London for a year at RADA (Liev Schrieber was in the program too!) while there I stalked..umm...I mean...made efforts to met Paul McCartney, (and did meet him several times). Moved to So. California to finish college at UC Irvine. Hated So. Cal, met a guy who felt the same. We moved to Seattle together, found work, got married, traveled, had kids and became part owners of a limousine company. UPDATED 6/2008- I recently got hooked up with a job catering at rock concerts. It has always been a dream for me to be part of the local crew at concerts...and now I am! It's really hard work, but so very cool to be part of the backstage rock world. So far I've catered RUSH, Foo Fighters, Elvis Costello, The Police, Joe Cocker and Steve Miller. Looking forward to lots more gigs this summer and I have landed a new permanent day job as well. Things are looking up all around! UPDATED 3/2008- My former spouse and I are happily divorced (3 yrs now) and I am loving the single life. We continued to work together at our limo company for a few years, but I left the company last year to find a new career field. I'm currently working as a nursing assistant in a retirement home with the hope of attending nursing school in the near future. O...Expand for more
ur kids are 12 and 9 and doing great in school. My son excels as a hockey center and right winger and his team won the state championship this year. My 9 yr. old loves school and enjoys doing gymnastics and singing, especially Hannah Montana songs. Thanks to her father, she was able to be front and center for Hannah Montana's concert in Seattle. I have two cats, but I'm not a crazy cat lady. I also like dogs very much, but they require far more upkeep and effort than cats. Cats are also smaller and eat less and their bags of food are much lighter and easier to carry. A couple of years ago, Paul McCartney was in town for a concert and the following day did a book signing of his children's book in Seattle. I brought my kids along to meet him in person at the book signing. We were among the first in line and all got to shake his hand (except for my girl who was too shy!) and my son and Paul actually joked around for a few minutes. I had brought in a bunch of photos taken in London when I had met him previously--I had an 80's sort of punk bleached hair style back then--he commented that he "liked the 'Do'". I feel that I have passed the torch on to my kids. They have grown up with the Beatles as part of the background music of their lives. And I think that is just groovy.
