Denise's Story
Life
I am happily married and am the mother of two great girls. They are grown and both are educated and out in the world. My younger daughter is 26 and is a Special Ed Teacher in high school (NJ). She owns a home and is quite happy. My older daughter is 29 and is a TV News Producer with Fox 29. She intends to be an Executive Producer soon, but wants to move to a warmer area, i.e. California or Florida. My husband is an Engineer with the U.S. Navy (civilian) and is 4 years from retirement. I was a School Secretary in NJ for many years and thoroughly enjoyed it. Last year my husband and I came back to Philly to take care of my elderly Mom. We will stay here as long as we have her, then intend to move to warmer parts, probably Florida. We struggle with that decision, as we would also love to live year-round at the Jersey Shore. We'll see. I am no longer quiet and shy as I was all through my childhood! I missed so much due to that affliction. It is such a lonely thing to go through. I would like to better know some of the people from the Class of 1967. I am looking for several, including Nancy Kowalkowski, Marita Brown, Marcella Ryan, Robert Refice, Joseph Brennan, John Stever, etc. I'm at irish620x Please get in touch. gret that I allowed shyness to get the best of me. I am no longer shy and would love to meet many of my classmates. Some names that come to mind are Marcella Ryan, Nancy Kowalkowski, Marita Brown, Joseph Brennan, John Stever, Robert Refice, and many more. I saw Paul Ward (Glenn) recently. He looks terrific and is still living in Summerdale. Who had Sister Robertine, Miss Davis, Miss Hughes, Miss Hockel, Miss Schuster, Sister Elizabeth Mary, Sister Roseanne, Sister Charlene? Do you remember in 6th Grade - Sr. Marie St. Francis was sent away in December never to return? That was after she locked a few of us in the convent basement then forgot about us. We managed to get out, though. My Mom went to Mother Superior's office the next morning and went nuts on her. Sister disappeared over the holidays and that was that. Robert Refice and I had our class changed over that incident because our parents stood up for us. Oh, such memories with the nuns of St. Martin's. I would love to go back and tour the building. I was on the 1st fl. of the old school recently and couldn't believe how much is exactly the same - the same doors with the round windows, the same lights, etc., etc. Even the smell was the same. But, everything looks so much smaller. Well, hope that many of you in the Class of '67 will get in touch with me.
