Denise's Story
As a smart kid that didn't follow the crowd...
I always wanted to be a doctor when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a great idea. As it turns out, they were wrong.
How do you blow off steam? Describe your favorite way to relax. I clean my house and do yard work or if i have some extra cash - I go shopping.
What's the wildest thing you ever did in school? I skipped school in the 10th grade to go to lunch and a movie with a crush. I got in-school suspension. I was soooo embrassed.
If I'm going to work somewhere, I need to have coffee, my planner, and a laptop to be able to deal with the day-to-day.
My hero is my Dad. He died in May 1980 when I was a 9th grader at Brandon Jr. High. He was very determined to give me, my brothers and sisters a better life than he had. I will never forget how he took the time to talk ...Expand for more
to me about life, go to my softball games, my swim meets, and my soccer games (I sucked at soccer).
I lived 98% of childhood in College Park in the same house from 1969 - 1987 (from age 3 to college graduation). My mother still lives there today. I have lived most of my adult life in Maryland. We moved to Maryland in June 1987 for my husband's job and we love it here. I spent a brief 3 years in Atlanta and hated it. We moved to Atlanta to be closer to my husband's family.
I have learned that kids make you grow up, make you patient, and make you honest. I hope and pray that I am raising and shaping my children to be strong, intelligent, independent, and honest peple.
My best friends (Kathy Green and Sheena King) would tell you I'm loud and crazy, but people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as quiet and shy.
