Life I moved to Phoenix in December of 1972 and have loved it here since!! I got married, had my daughter, Cassandra and owned my first house by 20 yrs. old. We had 3 horses, 2 dogs, a snake, a bird and 2 cats. I was very busy with running a household. After 10 yrs, I was seperated and then divorced, but have a beautiful daughter who is very independent and smart. I did all types of work from catering, to restaurant management, teaching dance and exercise classes and eventually got my real estate license and worked with land sales and commercial leasing. I met my husband, John and he was graduating from ASU as I was starting life over. We bought and remodeled houses and he started his own custom home building business. I worked in the business for over 14 yrs. and then pursued my own dreams. He has built the business after almost 20 yrs. to be one of the valleys best builders. He has 8 employees and is hands on with all decisions and projects. 6 yrs. ago, I left the company and started an event planning business which got put on hold when I had a bad snow skiing accident. I have had 3 knee surgeries and over 2 yrs. of rehab., but it brought me to Chrysalis, which is my passion and full time committment now. It is a domestic abuse agency and we have 2 shelters and 10 apts. we service. I am the president of a volunteer group of 40 women who provide our time and services wherever it is needed. It's a full time job for me as I plan fundraising events, do public outreach by speaking to organizations and man a booth at events, while also running the monthly meetings for the volunteers.
