Denise's Story

This could turn into a long story, however, I will try to keep this short! After high school, I went to Harvard on the Highway and got a small degree, then went on to The University of South Alabama and got my Bachelors in Marketing and Public Relations. Then it all started...I went to work as the AVP of Marketing for International Papers Credit Union in Moss Point, then on to Marketing and Sales Manager for Killer Bee Bait Company...after a few years of selling and Marketing bait and having a great time fishing in tournaments, I went to work for Coca~Cola in Gulfport and a little over a year ago I quit the corporate world to start my own business with Cassie Zala(Grace) my longtime friend since...oh about the 3rd grade. We own Smith and Zala, LLC, we spend our time creating beautiful one - of- a - kind jewelry that is sold in 13 states and we travel and go to wholesale shows and market and are looking to open a store here at home! That is right I am still in Ocean Springs and I love it! I am single, never married, yet! Not that I am opposed to the thought of marriage, I just have not...Expand for more
had time to go that distance or found the right one to go that distance.... I spend most of my time making jewelry and I also work in Bayou Belle, a great little boutique in downtown OS. How many of us can say we are lucky enough to have our own business doing something we love with a longtime close friend and then to know that I get to make others feel beautiful with our jewelry and I also get to make women smile by playing dress up and spending others money...I am blessed! I have three great nephews and one great neice...for those of you who remember my brothers Darin and Dana...they each have two children and I am also godmother to Darcy - Cassie and Eric's beautiful daughter who also has a four year old brother named Quinn...so I get to spend a lot of time around kids ranging in ages from 2 to 17. Outside of that I spend 3 to 6 days a week in the gym....age and gravity started taking hold and so I had to stop that from happening or at least slow it down! I guess that is it in a nutshell...hope I didn't bore to many of you....would love to reconnect with everyone...so drop me a line!
