Denise's Story

Life When I left high school I went to Texas Tech Univ. on a golf scholarship. I met my husband in college and we move to Houston where I became a golf pro. My husband's job moved us to New Bern N.C. where I became the General Manager and Director Of Golf of a Country Club there. My husband/s job transfer us back to Houston where and I then went to work with his company. Less than a year we were transfered to Chattanoga TN and then every year we continued to be transfer. We have lived in Fredericksburg VA and I commuted to work in DC than we got transfered back to Houston for the last time. From Houston we than went to Atlanta, GA, Greenville, S.C. onto Greenville N.C., to Virgina Beach, VA onto Raleigh N.C. when my husband left the company we were working for and started looking for a business to buy. While he was looking for a business I was offer a job of a life time from a company based out of the UK and the US office would be in Boston and I would live in Vermont. Wow what a change. le I still was living in Vermont. In May I finally left my company and now reside it Phoenix with my husband and two children. We bought a store and marina in the mountains of Arizona. It is Woods Canyon Lake Store and Marina about 2 hours and 20 mins. 35 miles Northeast of Phoenix. We are only open from May to Nov. due to the snow. We also breed and race, race horses. Our horse Not A Full Moon was 2007 World Champion Runner Up. He was our 1st race horse. We went from 1 horse in 2005 to 40+ horses in 2008. We breed, buy, sell and race all the horses. We just qualified for the 2008 Los Alamitos 2 Million with the 3rd fastest qualifing time. His name is A Tempting Dash. We are partners on this horse and its is with Giambi Stables. For any major league baseball fans yes that is Jeremy and Jason Giambi. On Dec. 12 we are hoping to be standing in the winners circle for $2,038,250. We need alot of luck. The same weekend my husband and myself have another filly running for the Arizona Quarter Horse Open Futurity that we won in 2006. Our fingers are crossed. My children are 18 and 17 and I was lucky enough to get a boy and a girl. They are extremely active and keep us very busy.
