Denise's Story

Married within 6 months of graduation from high school. Had a daughter and a son by the time I was 21. Worked at State of Indiana as computer programmer. Moved through ranks to Systems Analyst. Divorced, lost 9 year old son to cancer, moved to American United Life (AUL) as Senior Systems Analyst. Met and married my current husband, Steve Davis (got to keep my maiden name!!!). Gained a step-daughter. Returned to school part-time. In 1989 left AUL and attended school full-time completing a BS in Business from IU, 25 hours toward an MBA from IU, and 40 hours of pre-med science, also at IU. ms at Vasa Insurance Company. Promoted to President and Acting Director of start-up insurance company. Company was sold so I moved on to Director Customer Service with Comcast. Retired in 1998 to assist step-daughter with first child. Have four grandchildren, two boys, two girls, ages 10, 8, 8, 6. They are the lights of my life! In the past 30 years, have lived in Noblesville, Indianapolis, and Brownsburg. Recently moved back to Martinsville, after 17 years in Brownsburg, to assist with my aging parents. Have two classes remaining to earn a Masters in Ministerial Leadership from Indiana Weslyan University. Finally figured out what I am supposed to be when I grow up -- well sort of.
