This has some old content and updates beneath...
Been chasing dreams and have been lucky enough to catch a few. Lisa Quoresimo (college bud and writing partner) and I were rewarded this spring with productions - in San Francisco and San Jose, California - of a musical we wrote inspired by the life of Cesar Chavez. It was a gratifying and incredibly moving experience. So now we're shopping the musical as we prepare to dive into a new writing process. If you'd like to know more about the show, visit dirtandskydotorg.
UPDATE: Still working on the next musical. It is going well, just takes a while. However, we just had an offer from a Grammy-nominated producer to make a demo CD for us for the Chavez piece, because he wants to see it go somewhere. Keep your fingers crossed.
Otherwise, I'm working on a children's book (I know...who isn't?) and sculpting. In my spare time I scuba, hike, camp, see films, listen to good music, read, fight injustice and hang with friends.
UPDATE: Still doing all those things, SCUBA less since leaving the ocean. Have added being a rehabbing homeowner to the mix. To check out my myriad projects and how one girl can rehabs unchecked, drop me a line and I'll send along my blog address.
To pay the rent I'm currently working at my bro's mural and fresco painting company in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. It has been great to work with family and explore yet an...Expand for more
other state.
UPDATE: Currently working as an Night Editor at the Times Observer back in good ole Warren, Pa. It is fun and I get to read what is happening in the world daily as part of my job, very cool.
Ambitions I'm working toward: Driving Route 66 in my 1975 Chevy (Stella Blue) and writing the whole trip from Chicago to Los Angeles - Finally making Senora Stewart proud by really learning Spanish - Building my life so that I can be a a traveling writer - as in: I travel somewhere, set up housekeeping, and write until I feel it is time to travel somewhere else. In other words, I've gone from on-track achiever to hopeless beatnik...and it was about time. Hope your life is happy and what you want! Thanks for checking in to see what's up with me.
UPDATE: Just approached by an upstate NY magazine to be their "Into the Wilds" columnist. I'd have adventures like a usually do, only I'd also write about them. Possibly the first, shaky step toward the world of travel writing.
UPDATE: The NY mag didn't work out. They wanted the rights to my work. For the pay grade, those rights I would not part with. Something else will come along, I'm certain!
UPDATE: Life continues to be great. Konk (my black labrador) and I go to the river almost daily since spring has arrived. I'm on a mission to become a real athlete...and SLOWLY it is happening. Still a hopeless beatnik, but a happy one.
