Dennis's Story
Life
My Spouse
I was attending a "street festival" in mid-town Atlanta, where I lived at the time. I saw her with someone I had met at a party and went up to say hello to the person I knew. I then asked for an introduction. Made a lunch date and the rest is history.
My Pets
The "Boy" known as Dexter, is a Bengal and doesn't know he is a cat. For those folks who perfer a feline personality over a canine personality, please do not cringe. Having been a dog lover all of my life I was reluctant to accept a "feline" into the mix. He is special... rolls over, gives 5, fetches and chases on command. In reality he is a "psedo dog". I would be delighted to send pix.
My Job
It's the greatest thing since sliced bread.............
I always wanted to be a famous person when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a idea without much foundation as to how I would accomplish this mission. As it turns out, they were correct.
I try to keep myself out of positions where getting "steamed" is likely. My favorite way to relax is to play a round of golf
My biggest hero is Ghandi. At great personal sacrifice he was able to show the world that very different people could live peaceable together.
If I won $100 million, I'd give 5...Expand for more
Million of it to Roanoke College, then spend the rest on business endeavors, charitable Foundations and a NAPA Vineyard.
My current age is 54. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be well adjusted and happy with life. I was so completely correct.
It has been suggested I disclose something about my "1st Crush" I am not sure which 1st crush they are asking about but who ever she is, is now the night manager at Wal Mart / Target
If I had one do-over it would be this:
When I was in Atlanta when Cell phones were 1st becoming the rage I helped a friend start a cell phone division in his car stereo business. He asked me to become a permante part of his team but I did'nt want to leave my career in the finacial sector. WOW Who knew how different those 2 sectors would be today.
If we were to have a high school reunion now I think the biggest surprise my old friends would note is how well I have been "preserved" and how successful I have been given my very humble beginings.
My first job was at FNEB, where I got paid very little to run errands, deliver messages and collect unpaid checks from dowtown merchants. What I remember most about it is how many great folks I met and my 1st exposure to the business world.
