Dennis's Story
Dennis M. Cooper resides in Weiser, Idaho with his spouse Sandra Cooper. They are the founding board members of Co-Opportunities, Incorporated, a 501 (c) 3 non-profit corporation for educational and charitable purposes which is the parent corporation of the Bee Tree Folk School and the Simpson-Vassar Collections. They have renovated the ground floor of the "Pythian Castle" which is on the National Historic Registry and one of the most photographed buildings in the State as well as 8 East Idaho Street, two buildings west of the Castle....Expand for more
Dennis was the Building Official for the City of Weiser until his retirement in June of 2019. He is a professional musician and nationally recognized diatonic harmonica performer. He has released 5 albums with two more in the works. He operates a community recording studio as part of the non-profit and, with the help of others, is transcribing over 1,000 18th century music manuscripts into modern notation and English. Many of these manuscripts are from the "lost composers" of Austria and have not been performed since the early 1800's.
