Dennis's Story
I take it that this is the part of this site were one concocts a fictious lifes story about ones self. Be that as it may, I will refain from such conduct. The very day after graduation I started working full time for Lewis Homes as a ditch digger and broom camando. Hence being a scew up I blew all my money for Berkley School of Music on good times with Dan Briney. In the year of "76" Dan and I decided to inquire about our prospects in the USAF. Due to an injury on a party night Dan was rejected. He later was taken and did his twenty. The last I herd from him he was living in Paris CA. I did my short time and retured to Lewis Homes as a customer sevice man, with grand designs of being a big shot manager. But alas due to the vices of my life at the time, alcohol, drugs and playing music in the club invironment , that was derailed for a few more years until Alcoholics Anonymous took hold in the summer of 1980. January of 1981 I was the captian of of a Big Rig discovering the US through the windshield of a Peterbuilt. This was short lived, for on a full moon night in June. A corvett at 100 miles an hour decided he wanted my lane on I-10 in Panama City, FL. Those of you who under stand kinetic energy will understand that a fiberglass vehicle at 100 mph and a 40 ton truck at 60 mph colliding head on makes for an untidy circumstance. Surviving this misshap, I borded a Greyhound Bus to the west and steped off at Union Station, Las Vegas, NV. After seven years in ...Expand for more
the constrution trades I made my management goals. From this lofty perch I looked down and did not like what lay below and above me. Having a deep affection for the Old South, I left Nevada for Charleston SC. to pursue the old craft of historic restoration and preservation. After 20 years of vying my trade the jounery has been quite grand. Perhaps you have seen my work in some of the major home magazines or on a couple of those doted HGTV or This Old House TV shows. In January of 2007 I celebrated my 50th with a playing vacation with old bandmates. Elden Lisalda and others. You all can see his band at the Coach House in Capastrano or a local club in Carona area. We played the jamb clubs on the SO. Cal. circuit, One of my favoriets, The Fender Club in Fullerton is a must for all you old Blues Lovers to check out. I saw the fence that surrounds the High School now and cleaned out the Winchel's Doughnuts on Central Ave and Fed Ex'ed the lot back to Charleston. Today I still cobble wood together and consult on historic properties, but my new lease on life begain a year ago when asked by some young chaps in there twenties to join there classic rock band. They were in dire need of a real 70's bass player. The band is called Kurly Wolf and you can find us at the my space deal and soon on a dot com web site. If perhaps we have a 40th reuion or the band "Hits one out the park" and gets to tour the Souther California area, I'll catch up with you all then. Cheers.
