Dennis's Story
Hi all. UBC 67-71, BSc math major, computer science minor, teacher training. Started teaching at Mission Senior Secondary in 73. Math, Science, Biology, some Auto Shop. Brought computers into the school in 79, then mostly taught Computer Science and Information Technology. In 87 became the District Computer Helping Teacher and Coordinator. The job was eliminated in 2001 due to government financial cutbacks. Back to full time Information Technology teaching until I became the full time Mission Teacher's Union President in 2004. Retired in June 2006.
My first marriage produced a daughter in 76 and a son in 78. Jennifer is a nurse practioner in Toronto's Sick Kids Hospital Oncology Department and Jason is the Marketing Manager for North Okanagan Co-Op in Vernon/Armstrong. Jason is ...Expand for more

Moved to Gabriola Island in 2011 with my wife Moira. I still play hockey, go to Nanaimo 2 days a week, year round, back into motorcycling, scuba diving and kayaking, and we do long distance backpacking. (Completed the PCT from Mexico to Canada, Spain's Camino de Santiago, NWT's Canol Heritage Trail and more) I also restore old cars, currrently have 4.
For your information, your principal, my father left Quesnel in 67, a vice principal for 3 years in North Vancouver, then 7 years as principal of Abbotsford Senior, then he became a superintendent for the rest of his career. 2 years in Haida Gwaii and Nishga, and finished his career in Princeton, retiring in 87. In 2003 he developed mesothelioma and passed away in 2004. Mom is a hearty 93 in Vernon.
