April,27,2015 Dear Classmates,Today I am greatful to be here to shear 51 years: Long Story short. At 17 unable to continue hiding my pain of ' fitting-in ', by being the class clown and misfit at the office again,I joined the U.S. Army on 2/24/64. That winter made for a hard 8 weeks of 'Bootcamp' at Fort Dix N.J. Catching bronchitis most likely keeped me out of Viet Nam. Even so I was in top shape for my next 'post', Washington DC, where in my off duty hours I learned how to drink, big time. Soon I was shiped out overseas, were the beer was much stronger. I left the Army near the end of 1966. So then I traveled, finding trouble, here, and there. Untill sometime after 1969 I thought myself a true Hippy,who did not drink that much, having found other more peaceful means of getting wasted. Then in love a few times, married once. ' One thing you can't hide is when your crippeled inside ' Marrage was over in months, I fell to pieces. Returned to the alcohol,and worst, the law caught up to me,so I did more ' time '. So I paid for my wrongs, please don't hold it against me. For a long time I tryed ( on and off ) to be faithful to 'The Way ' were I was always forgiven, but ...Expand for more
