Dennis's Story
Life
Well, here we are out here in the "sweet afterglow"! Can you believe it, how fast the many years have gone by! I cherish the memories all of you helped to make.
I work mainly as a writer and on the side as an announcer and in the mass communications field. What have you been up to since we graduated, please let me know. In November 1973 they hired me as a Crisis Counselor at St. Charles Boys Home -- my other alma mater. After college and a couple of different careers, I became an ad agency writer after somehow managing to give the winning presentation in 1987 at the annual Milwaukee Advertising Club contest. From writer to account executive, then vice president in charge of business-to-business development. This led to color magazine publishing, then writing again for an international publication. Finally, an old friend and former co-worker from the boys home days suggested I try technical writing. That brought me into video writing and narration, then broadcasting (t.v. and radio), sporting event announcing, voice-over work and other types of narration opportunities. Yes, I do funeral eulogies. I love my work, it's fun and rewarding, as I hope yours is, too.
If there is one thing we all need to remember, and trust in, it's this: The Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, He was buried and rose again the third day; Jesus did it all on the Cross, crying out, "It is finished!" meaning all we have to do is trust Him, amen.
