Military
1969-1970, Light Weapons Infantry, 11 Bravo, 'alias GRUNT',

Got a Bronze Star but no CIB because I had a CO who would not give out a CIB unless you reported a dead gook. He also would not let us go on R&R unless we reported a 'kill' until someone higher up found out about it and made him let us go, but even then we were 'in country' for more than 8 months before we got to ...Expand for more

The company commander's slogan at that time was:
"A gook a day is a battalion a year!"
I have been, and am still being treated for Government diagnosed PTSD, permanant hearing loss, and skin and nervous system problems that appear to be related to an almost daily exposure to Agent Orange; but I CAN'T GET ANY GOVERNMENT DISABILITY HELP BECAUSE I HAVE NO CIB!
I wish now that I had lied to the CO like everyone else was doing at the time!
