Dennis's Story
Life
After High School, I joined the Bell Telephone System (while attending college at Wayne State). I married a lady from Redford High School, and we moved east to New Jersey. I attended Rutgers University, and graduated from Pace University, New York City, with my BS and MBA in Management and became an officer with AT&T in New Jersey. In 1985 I left AT&T to start my own business (Princeton Institute of New Jersey) which was an International Telecommunications and Transportation Consulting Firm. The company grew quickly and I sold it in 1990 after I was recruited to become President of Independent Telecommunications Network, Inc., a telecom start-up. That company merged with another in 1995, went public, and was sold to a West Coast company named Verisign for $1.2 Billion. I left ILUM in 1996 to fix a broken company (Prairie Systems) in Omaha, NE. We fixed it by 1998, and then I joined 21st Century Cable Television in Chicago, helping a friend from Michigan Bell to turn around that troubled co...Expand for more
mpany. The company was fixed and sold to a company named RCN for $511 million. After 21st Century was sold, I formed Telemedia Resource Group/American Wireless Freedom Coalition). We built new telecommunications companies for investors and did lobbying for wireless telecommunications equipment manufacturers. Telecommunications dried up, so I closed that business late in 2006 and started a new business (MidCon Investments, Inc.) , a real estate investment company. I also teach Management in the graduate business school at Avila University in Kansas City. I have been very fortunate to have worked with some wonderful, dedicated people during my career, and have worked with companies and people in the USA, England, Scotland, Belgium, France, Germany, The Soviet Union, India, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, and Mexico. God has blessed me and my family with good fortune and good health. I will be eternally grateful for that. I will appreciate renewing friendships with all of my Mackenzie classmates.
