Dennis's Story

Went to Mare Island from high school and became a machinist. Went in the navy in 1970. While I was in, I got married to a girl from Concord. Got out of the navy in 1973 and went back to Mare Island. Our son was born in 1974. I left Mare Island in 1981 to become a minister.(Couldn't see building war weapons while preaching Jesus...Expand for more
' message of peace.)Got a job with the state in 1983. After several on-the-job injuries, the state put me out on disability in 2000. My wife and I retired to Trinity County, to an old gold mining town called Lewiston. Wonderful place to live! Our son and his family live a block away, so we see our granddaughter almost every day
