Dennis's Story
Life
Obtained a Bachelor's Degree from Fairmont (WV) State; Masters in Art Education from Miami (Ohio) University; post-grad work at The University of Cincinnati and Wright State Univ. in Dayton.
Taught in Mason, Ohio (just north of Cincinnati) school district for thirty years---retiring in '98: mathematics for twenty years then switched to high school art department for last ten, teaching drawing, painting, photography and art history. Now I'm working at an antique mall -- how appropriate for a retiree.
Still painting and have shown in SOHO New York, California, Pittsburgh, as well as Ohio. Apparently not allowed to give web site, so if you're interested in seeing photos of my paintings, just contact me and I'll give you my regular e-mail address and I'll let you know through that.
I have two daughters, five granddaughters, one grandson, and am recently divorced, third time. One of these days I'll get it right.
Love to travel; have been to Italy, France, Spain...Expand for more
, Portugal, Scotland, England, Ireland, Wales, North Africa (Morocco and Egypt), Mexico, Canada and 45 of the contiguous US states.
Still staying active: working out; hiking; and riding my bike regularly. I have recently compiled about 10,000 names on my family's genealogy. I have discovered Photoshop, and that has been keeping me from my painting for over eight years. I am constantly trying to take my photographs in creative directions.
An interesting note about my family tree: one twig ended up in southwest Ohio around 1800, settled, and several splinters eventually married into families whose names corresponded with many of the students I had. I was actually related to a lot of them and didn't know it at the time.
Hobbies/collections/interests include: photography (Photoshop), coin-collecting, traveling, crossword puzzle-ing, nine balling, reading, Civil War history researching -- as well as sunsets, quiet dinners by the fireplace, and . . . (oh, never mind).
