Dennis's Story
Hi to all.
Not sure what triggered me to do this. Maybe it is the nagging need for me to apply for Medicare, and my desire to keep delaying that.
As the saying goes, " A lot of water has gone under the bridge" since 1964. After Lourdes, I went off to college in Massachusetts, now UMass, Lowell somehow gaining a degree in Electrical Engineering. Met my wife, Ann, of 42 years at school. The tiny photo is of her and me in 1965. What a geek! We currently reside in Maryland about 10 minutes from the Naval Academy in Annapolis. Very nice place to live.
Moved to Washington DC in 1968 for a job for the United States Navy thinking that would last around 5 years. Started out in carrier based aviation research and development. iting assignments I retired and started my own consulting company in 2002. At the moment I am working on retiring again!!
We have two grown, married children, Amy and John. Ann and I did the station wagon, golden retriever thing moving four times over 40+ years. We now have three grandchildren , all boys, with a girl about to be born in less than a month. We all live within 15 minutes of each other which enables us to get together easily and often.
I picked up golf at 40 and still love to hack it around whenever I can. Living on the Chesapeake, we love to boat in our small power boat. I have recently gotten into the saltwater aquarium hobby which has been fun and gives me something to substitute for work.
Lourdes was a great experience for me with many fond memories of getting disciplined. French class with Theophile still makes me smile when I think about it.
Take care
Denny
