Kristine's Story

Life Hey there, everyone, aloha from the most beautiful place on earth! Well, lots to tell, got married in 1986 to a guy I met at Jordan Marsh, fell in love instantly, we've been through a lot together and after 21 years together, life is sweeter everyday. In 1990, I had my first child, David Brian Doucette, he is the brightest, kindest, gentlelest heart you ever would meet, I had the privilege to home school him til he turned 16 years old, then he entered high school in Hawaii. I had my daugther in 1992, her name is Danielle and is the spitfire and challenge in my life but she is the light in my life, we have so much fun together and I also home schooled her as well up to her freshmen year, she is loving high school and going through what we all went through in H.S., been there, done that. In June 1992, I and my husband became born again Christians and became independent baptists, this changed our lives for the best. We joined a church in CT, then we moved to New Orleans for a job move for my husband and we got with the most awesome church, my pastor is my adopted father in Christ and I love him and miss him dearly, his wife, is my best friend. So many things changed in our lives, our decision to home school, a big challenge but what a blessing, a great choice that I NEVER will regret. My husband went to Bible college and got his Bachelor's degree in divinity and became a pastor and then we got "called" into missions, we have lived in Albertville, France to learn french for a year and loved it, imagine driving to Switzerland for the day or maybe Cannes to go to the beach and only being 5 hours drive, incredible. We travelled to Germany, Switzerland, Italy, England and Scotland and the French Riviera, oo la la. I am fluent in French along with my family. We moved to Quebec, served there as missionaries in Quebec City, a wonderful but COLD experience, which eventually moved us out of there due to a health problem with my spine. We travelled through 45 states,...Expand for more
9 Canadian provinces, from east to west, west to east, we've been to 1 US territory, Mexico, Grand Cayman, Jamaica and then we got a chance of a lifetime to help a small church in Tahiti, we visited there on vacation after my Mom, my best friend, passed away, it was something my mother wanted me to do with my family, we got to see Tahiti, Bora Bora, Moorea, what a beautiful place, unforgettable, the prices weren't though, we had the chance to stay in an overwater bungalow at $600 a night, yikes but unforgettable. We moved our stuff from CT to Hawaii, then to Tahiti to help the church, now, that was a life changing experience, no, it was not like a vacation, it was life, in reality, being around poverty stricken people, but with people that have the dearest hearts, it was hard to live there, financially, it was a challenge, everything is out of sight, $7 a gallon for gas, $9 for a gallon of milk, going to McDonalds was a once a month treat for us, so it was a blessing to live like the Tahitians and be able to reach them with the Gospel. We are now back in Hawaii due to visa issues and have been living here until the Lord changes the minds of the Consulate about our visas. We live in Ewa Beach, on the leeward(dry side) of the island of Oahu. We are renting right now, a great house but if we do end up staying here, my husband is going into real estate and then we will start to look for a house of our own. Love my life, with its health issues for me, my husband is the best guy ever, he does it all for me, my kids are the best, they are both 4.0 in school, both rank 1 in their class. I've been a Bichon Frise' breeder since 1993, I have close to 10 champions, my 6th generation is 6 weeks old and have the #1 winning Bichon of all time as their gr. grandpa and the #2 dog as their grandfather and gr grandpa on the dad's side. Phebe, the mother, is my #1 girl, she won best of breed, like her grandma. I love this hobby. I love my life, my family and most of all, Jesus!
