Dennis's Story
I am presently staying in Greenville, NC with my wife of nearly 17 years. I make a daily two hour drive round trip to the Rocky Mount Engine Plant in Whitakers, NC where I have just started working on my 34th year at the company. I still draw and make oil paintings. One of my paintings was stolen out of a church, a baptism scene that I had the pleasure of doing twice to replace the stolen one. eyboard in worship before I go to work. I started at RMEP as a machine operator then became a Tool Maker and now I am Tool Designer. I design tools with the aid of ProEngineer, a powerful Parametric Technology tool for 3D Modeling. It is a long way from the drafting board and T-Square I used in Julian Cleveland's Drafting Class.Here I want to give honor to Mr. Cleveland for starting me on my career path and getting me my first Drafting Job at Long Mfg. in Tarboro where I also learned about being a Machinist Someday I will retire but right now I am still loving what I do.
