Published poet on Poetry.com, and Tower Press in London England! Now voted poet of the year (2008) for my poem "You start my day' by the international socity of poets.
Military
Started out in the USMC and got a honorable discharge for not being able to adapt to the climate. Joined the Navy 3 months later, atayed on active for 4 and inactive for 3. Deck hand who went for hospital corpsman.
Since then.....
Have been a telephone operator for years on and off, Still smiling and full of hope. I have been suffering for well since right after my first heat stroke in the Marines with severe depression and have been told after years of treatment, I'm stable (trust me no-one is ever NORMAL after the military)I'm on disa...Expand for more
bility for that and severe arthritis, and looking forward to Years as a civilian poet and after my upcoming barriatric surgery(I'm only 130lbs over weight still and thats after loosing 150 lbs).
Now taking care of my Dad who has Acute Mylo Leukemia, and he might not be around very long.
Sorry I missed the 30th, but I need to be here, I love you all! my prayers go out to all of you and your loved ones!
UPDATE On August 2,2010 Dad lost his fight with Acute mylo Leukemia. Service for inturment of his ashes will be on 3 Sept. 2010 at 2 P.M. at FT. Logan Federal Cemetery. No Flowers please instead the family wishes that donations be made to The American Cancer Society in the Name of Marion A. Turner.
