Dennis's Story
After High school, I married Elaine McAnally. I wasn’t fast enough to get into college. Was drafted and joined the Air Force. The 1st year in , Nixon stop the draft. My son was born on April 29,1977. Went to SouthWest College in San Marcus. Was a cop for 7 yrs. in 2014 he and my daughter-in-law was helping his grandfather remodel his house. Margaret, found him dead from a blood clought in his lungs. His mother and l have not been right since then. Margret also suffers great depressions.
I finished my tour in the Air Force. Went to college and earned a dual degree in computers and the second degree in Business Management. I received as partial scholarship because my GPA was high. We where stationed in England at RAF Alconbury for 5 years. Elaine and I remained very busy during that time. Matt , my son was too young to remember most of the tour. We did take advantage of the free air “hops” and traveled as much of Europe as we possibly could. That was very enjoyable. After the service, we came home. I continued school at UT in Austin for little longer. But responsibilities were great so Elaine started working with the State of Texas. In Unclaimed Properties. I finished school and stared working for Austin in civil Engineering, digit...Expand for more
izing maps and special projects programs. Elaine continued with the state. Matt graduatied and worked for Hays county as a Deputy Sheriff for many years before going to Houston to help his grandfather, and applied for Harris county sheriffs dept., Houston police dept and a few other places he liked. Then he passed away! So did his grandfather. I was told of an opening at UTMDAnderson cancer research division. I was hired and worked there for many years, then retire after Matt died. So did Elaine. We remodeled her home and sold it. Her and Matt inherited a beach house on Bolivar, Gaveston. It was a ver nice a quaint beach house on the water shores. Matt and I would go fishing a lot down there. Then Hurrican Ike came through and took out all of the houses. Including Elaine’s and Matt’s beach house. A boat and some very expensive tackle. The three of us were devistated. We had insurance. But it was not enough to cover the losses and rebuild.
So since high school, some things in our life were good. And we enjoyed it very much. But too much bad things happen too. Things that we will just have to deal with, that most parents never have to deal with.
The Good Lord will help us out. I’m sure of it!!!!!
