Denny's Story
Woodbridge, Virginia. Started in 3rd grade and graduated from high school, living out of the same house.
At some point....August, 1988, I moved to SW Virginia in order to complete school and live/work. In 1993, while working, I met my future wife (we married in 2001). We lived in both Roanoke and Blacksburg, Virginia, for the next several years. She earned her bachelors, masters,and doctorate from Virginia Tech, while I received a bachelors from Ferrum College in Outdoor Recreation. After several years of taking others on rock climbing, caving, canoeing, and backpacking trips...I began to like how my wife got her summers off from teaching. SO, I began teaching, in Roanoke (Va.), in 2000 as a Physical Education teacher....but have been teaching science for the last 7 years. In Spring 2006,...Expand for more
I became a certified middle school teacher, highly qualified to teach all elementary subjects and middle school science for the state of Tennessee. Yeehaaaw!
Our last adventures.....
Brings us to Seymour, Tennessee. Just southeast of Knoxville, Seymour lies in the foothills of the Great Smokey Mtns. National Park. We're a walk through the woods to the French Broad River or Seven Islands Wildlife Refuge...very beautiful landscapes are in abundance. And Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, or Cades Cove are just a few moments drive. We are raising our two dogs and 4 cats on a nice chuck of land, while both working (wife) at the University of Tennessee and (me)at Whittle Middle in downtown Knoxville.
