Derek's Story

Life Since high school, I graduated from FSU with a degree in business. I landed a job working in IT. My dream job was to be a police officer. After 10 years of trying I finally got on with the City of Miami. It wasn't what I expected, but it was fun. The pay in IT was so much better that I decided to go back to IT and do police part time. I did that for 7 years and enjoyed it. I got to work with the people I wanted to ...Expand for more
and when I wanted. That was usually Friday and Saturday nights since those are the busiest. During that time, I got married then moved to Atlanta. I work in IT full time now and have three beautiful daughters. I officiate high school football as well as little league for kids. I love to run and do things physical. My goal for the future is to keep providing for my family, be a great Dad, and continue working on refereeing.
