Dewella's Story

OK, I used the Story Wizard, but I'm not in a very prolific mood right now. :-) I have 3 beautiful grandsons (Gage, Jake, and Cooper)and a granddaughter (hopefully but of course it doesn't really matter) due in March or April. I live on the same property as my oldest son, Doug, and his wife, Amiee (the one that is pregnant now)--- it has 3 dwellings on the lot. My youngest son, Luke, has returned to us from the Air Force and will be living in the studio cottage on the same lot. My daughter, Tera, lives nearby also. It is so nice to have everyone living so close together. I always wanted to be a nurse when I grew up. I thought that it was more important to stay home and raise my kids. As it turns out, it was the right choice. I blow off steam by exercising. I relax when I write. I can't single out ONE wild thing I did in school except going to a lot of parties. Ah, the memories.... If I'm going to work somewhere, I need to have laughter, music, and diet Pepsi to be able to deal with the day-to-day. My sister-in-law, Kay, is my hero. I have lived in CA all of my life. The only other place I would like to live is on the road. The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is an old boyfriend (no name), because I have such fond memories of him and I want him to know that. Actually, he does know that! I talk to him every year or so. I loved watching my kids in their sports--I miss it very much. I like reality TV when there is a competetion for real talent - not just stupid games where people undermine other people. I would die without my kids and grandkids. My obsession lately has been documentaries. It is about all I ever watch. I have had a great life---that's its own surprise. If I could improve my home, I'd remodel the upstairs bedroom and add on a wrap around porch. My dream home would be completely paid off. I finally learned what unconditional love is from my children and grandchildren. Mr. Torgerson, Science teacher, was my favorite teacher. He was always kind, always smiling, and had like 5-6 daughters! He neede...Expand for more
d a reward just for that!! If I won $100 million, I'd give 1/3 of it to each of my kids and my ex-husband, then spend the rest on bills, traveling and traveling. I am truly happy where I am. Of course, traveling the world would put a cherry on top. My current age is 57. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be really old. I was so completely wrong -- 57 is incredibly young! My career aspiration is to live off of the royalty checks from my writing. My first crush.... Bless his heart. He was 18 and I was 13. He was a complete gentleman whom I respect to this day! I would love to say hi to him someday! My best friend would tell you I'm really shy and sensitive, but people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as funny and silly sometimes. I am an easy person. I don't need fancy cars or clothes, so my dress style reflects that, much like it did 10 years ago. I share my home with my Great Pyrenees, Sofie, which I find truly perfect. My biggest trophies are my kids and grandkids. I have 3 grandsons and one granddaughter (I hope)on the way. I can think of tiny little things I would like to have a do-over for in my life, but overall I have no regrets. In 10 years, I hope to be healthy and traveling. I'm going to get there by doing it after I get the aforementioned $100 million dollars. My oldest friend (no offense) is Donna Underwood Laird. Although we don't get to see each other much, she is in my heart always. I can't think of anything about me that should surprise everyone at a high school reunion. I gain weight, I lose weight, so it would depend my status when the reunion takes place. I'm just still me. My first job was a phone solicitor, where I got paid very little to irritate people on the phone. What I remember most about it was the boss being so unprofessional. Sexual harassment wasn't an issue back then. I didn't stay there long! I don't remember my childhood. I hope old friends will remember me as a kind person who never judged anyone. I hope they remember me as a humanist with a great sense of humor!
