Dewey's Story

Life Hey friends, So since 1981....still a work in progress I guess, married once, one child from that marriage, divorced in 1987, never remarried YET! My son Daniel is 22, lives in Chelsea area, he served with the US Marines after enlisting 4 months before Sept 11, 2001, he was infantry and was in Iraq for the Invasion in 2003, went back again in 2004 for the battle of Al Fallujah after the contractors were killed. He served 4 yrs and is home safe now. I was working for Lowe's management when my reserve unit was called up for combat duty in Afghanistan, of course not doing my regular reserve job, was retrained for Infantry and was a gunner in convoy's and squad leader in other combat duties. I was on duty near and in Kabul, Afghanistan and involved in training Afghan soldiers. I recieved the Combat Infantry Badge and numerous War on Terror medals and combat related awards. I served 10 yrs and am now out, retired medically. I am continuing my education, almost have my BA in management! Then if my medical improves, will continue with prior management which I loved. I still live in Claremore, for now, hoping to move soon, who know's what tomorrow brings. 25 yrs later...and I still have all my hair! what more can I say! you guys take good care! Dewey School Ok, not telling any big secrets here, but I always had some secret crushes and although I never dated a classmate, I wanted to. I dated a wonderful girl throughout HS from Sequoyah HS and had some jerk from California not stolen her from me! well anyway.... Married a Chelsea girl! It was extremely hard to have close friends in class due to my dad be...Expand for more
ing the police chief and everyone though ole Dew was his narc, what a joke! I didnt care because that wasnt the group I wanted to hang with anyway. HS was tough, lost my big sister to a drunk driver and never could concentrate on class after that so I just stayed off to myself. Favorite teachers..can't recall most names, but senior year, Government class, Mick Weber and our gang playing poker in class, Mick, well he won most hands LOL. I enjoyed the teacher who was also a coach. Coach Larry Coker, look at him now, he kicked me off the team for grades, Go Sooners! College I attended Rogers in Claremore for 80 hrs, TCC in Tulsa for 2 yrs, still a work in progress, continuing education, God love it. Its actually easier for me now that I am older and very interested in education. Workplace Straight out of HS, went into Law Enforcement. Worked in communications until i was old enough to be a street cop. Worked at Chelsea PD, was Chief at Oologah PD, Vinita PD, then was shift supervisor for Oklahoma Military Department Police protecting Army and Air Guard Aircraft in state. Left law enforcement behind for retail management with Lowe's and also military mixed in all this. Military Keeping this part short... Served 10 yrs in military. Medically retired in 2004. Served in combat in Operation Enduring Freedom in NE Afghanistan. Numerous medals and citations, most proud was getting my Combat Infantry Badge and Global War on Terror Campain Medal, Afghanistan Service Medal, Overseas service medal, 2 National defense service medals, Gulf war and War on Terror. The rest is locked securely in my head! ha.
