Diana's Story
Hi Folks...my years at Weehawken HS were good and I have a lot of good memories...I lived in Hoboken and took a public bus to Weehawken High every day.....I entered as a sophomore and graduated after my senior year in June 1967.......I went off to Elmira College in New York State and graduated 4 years later in 1971 with a double major in English and History and a NYS teaching certificate in both those areas for grades 7-12....I married my soul-mate Tom in 1969 and finished off my last two years of college living off campus.....a total gas......the tumultuous 1960"s doing it's thing.......civill rights......assassinations....Vietnam...and some of the best music ever...moved to Sturbridge, Ma in 1972(my husband's home town) and were able to over the years build a house on the property given us as a wedding gift from his dad....The years go by...Tom had good work locally and I substituted for years at the local schools...Then our son was born in Jan 1980 and then things got really busy......life went on and when our son started up with school I landed my dream job at an alternative school close by... I stayed on for 23 years working with behaviorally and emotionally challenged kids K-12...these kids couldn't ...Expand for more
hack it in regular schools and needed the special attention a school like ours could provide...we serviced 17 other school districts and we were very busy all the time...but now I'm retired as my husband is and we just play around like grown up kids.....our son Tom IV is grown, married and a father of a 3 year old son, Tom V.....he and his wife live in Malibu, CA and we get out there every chance we get....love Cali...too much fun....I still play guitar and got myself a sweet electric Epiphone....I told everyone I was gonna run away now and join a R & R band....great fun for I can now take the time to learn all those groovy licks....My husband and I also love the road....all those back roads that cross our country and every state you're in...we'll stay away for 5-6 weeks at a time escaping winter and just touring cross country when the goings good......went down the Oregon Coast awhile back....too beautiful.....well, I can't imagine that anyone has any strong memories of me....Jill Borg was a good friend who also commuted froom Hoboken everyday.....who remembers Dave Dobish?...great memories of Mr. Shicktel (English), Mr. Moore (Biology), Mr. Palombo?(History)...Prin. Hughes....never forget that guy.......
